ALOHA MAUI

YOUR MAUI. YOUR CHOICES.

Privacy policy

Your Maui trip, your choices

Aloha Maui is a travel guide and optional AI concierge. No Aloha account or sign-in is required. This policy describes the iOS app and this website. Updated October 25, 2026.

Information on your device

Your preferences, saved places, plans, downloaded guides and recordings, gallery and workout records support the features you choose. Apple permissions control access to location, microphone, camera, photos, motion, Calendar, Reminders and Health. Health and motion data stay on your device and are not sent to AI. You can use the non-AI guides without agreeing to AI processing.

Optional Aloha AI

Before sending information for cloud AI, the app asks you to allow processing by OpenAI. Depending on the feature you request, this can include your question and conversation context, your first name if you provide one, preferences and plans, photos you select, voice audio or transcription, and location when relevant to a nearby-place request. Requests pass through our service. Review or withdraw AI permission in Settings → Privacy & Permissions. Withdrawal stops future AI processing; it does not recall information already processed. Do not submit information you do not want processed by these services.

Providers and connected features

Apple provides StoreKit purchases, device services, maps and WeatherKit. Open-Meteo may supply weather when the app identifies it as the source. Media delivery and our app service use hosting and CDN providers. Connected services receive the information necessary to respond, including ordinary network information such as an IP address. OpenAI processing and retention are subject to its applicable API policies and our service configuration; we do not promise zero retention or instant deletion by third parties. See OpenAI’s privacy policy and Apple’s privacy policy.

Purchases and service protection

Apple handles payment credentials. Our service uses purchase and transaction information, app-scoped identifiers, service-use records and response timing to verify access, restore eligible purchases, enforce the free sample and fair use, prevent fraud, measure service quality and account for AI service costs. Aloha Maui and Aloha Oʻahu are separate apps; purchasing one does not purchase the other.

Analytics and tracking

Optional usage analytics are off unless you enable them. When enabled, app interactions and coarse location may help improve the experience. The app does not use IDFA or track you across other companies’ apps and websites. This marketing website has no advertising trackers or analytics integration; hosting infrastructure processes ordinary requests to deliver it.

Location and background operation

Location supports nearby places and GPS road-trip or workout features you start. An active session can continue while the screen is locked or another app is open; pause or end it to stop that session. Audio can continue in the background when you choose playback. Device permissions can be changed in iPhone Settings.

Keeping and removing information

Local information is retained until you remove it through the app or delete the app, subject to Apple’s backups and system behavior. Purchase/service records may be retained to provide purchased access, handle support, prevent abuse and meet applicable obligations. Provider-held information follows that provider’s applicable retention settings. For a data request, contact us with the minimum details needed to identify the issue; never send payment credentials or private health records.
